The "Chowrasta" (lit: 4-way crossing) is the heart of old Darjeeling, and one of the most picturesque parts of the town with good views of Kganchendzonga and other peaks.

In the evenings, it is a pleasant mix of local couples, tourists, monks and yes, monkeys... all outdoors, enjoying the fresh mountain air and the charming ambience.
