One of the key predators of the Kgalagadi, the lanner can frequently be seen swooping upon flocks of doves and weavers when they come to waterholes to drink.

I was unable to get a shot of this bird hunting, as a beanbag and a 500mm lens do not make for an ideal panning combo.

Next time, I am going to find a way to stick the Wimberley head on a post and try to shoot these awesome hunters.
